With greatest confidence, I recommend Bridgett Rangel for your scholarship. I have worked closely with Bridgett for the last three and a half years, not only as her AP English teacher, but as faculty consultant to the CSF Club. Within these capacities, I am continually amazed and supported by Bridgettβs accomplishments as a model and inspiration to her peers. She models a quiet grace in all of her pursuits. Among this yearβs Honor Students, Bridgett stands out with her commitment to school leadership and civic service. Her devotion, enthusiasm and decorum have significantly changed the atmosphere of our school, our community and beyond. Her efforts in Link Crew, Peace Jam Club, Drama Club, and CSF all show her devotion to sharing a vision of a socially responsible, academic climate. In CSF this has been evident in her work to establish tutoring, and college orientation seminars. Brigett reaches even outside of our high school offering passion, compassion, and direction for many communities through her scouting and church service activities. Along with Bridgettβs club involvement, she maintains the openness that earned school-wide recognition and my nomination for Student of the Month. . Despite her many local and statewide commendations, Bridgett possesses the humble apprenticeship required when reading and analyzing literature. She continually approaches difficult texts with the conviction that a close reading will reveal the artistβs mind and grace. Most amazing is Bridgettβs ability to follow complicated turns in artistβs perception as evident in her consideration of Lent/Carnival motifs in The Canterbury Tales and in her Nietzchean analysis of Hamletβs negation of will. This mature analytical ability coupled with her own fluency of expression promises to be a valuable and rare asset as he continues her education. Bridgett makes any community or class that she touches better. Her maturity, sense of self and place both, locally and globally, will find her celebrated wherever she travels. She is unassuming, warm, gracious and brilliant. On the basis of my own familiarity with Bridgett, I endorse any offer that appreciates her amazingly graceful balance of competence and compassion.

Bridgett was one of the most inspiring people I met at UCSD. We were in many of the same art history classes together, and I found that she was a dedicated, passionate student who was curious about the world and had so many ideas to share. Since graduating, she has truly blossomed and become a marketing powerhouse and a unique and talented artist. She emanates positivity and creativity everywhere she goes, loves to engage with other people and gain new perspectives, and energetically gets involved anywhere she is. I can't wait to see what her next project is-she's definitely going to be one to follow as an emerging arts and fashion professional!
