Technical Support Engineer
-
Nov 2015 - Jun 2018
My job as a Technical Support Engineer is to support the technical aspect of the software. This involves many aspects including using Advanced SQL to resolve issues or bugs via the database, performing mass database changes, performing custom processes, and generating reports. This also includes researching any bugs in the system, finding innovative solutions for bugs and shortcomings in the system, generating dev tickets, and resolving simple bugs using Java/Spring. On top of our software I was also required to manage, set up, and troubleshoot our XML and API Integrations into the softwareWith my job, it has been necessary and I took the opportunity to became a subject matter expert on both the frontend and backend (code and database) of the software. This also included giving presentations both internally and to customers and creating internal and public knowledge base articles on the content. While working here I have also taken on many side projects whenever i could, which included: Managing, setting up, and troubleshooting our Single Sign On process. Helping to enhance our AWS SES Email services. Managing, setting up, and troubleshooting our Report Data Connector service which utilizes Tableau and Power BI reporting software. Show less

System Administrator
-
May 2011 - Sep 2015
In May 2011 I was promoted to System Administrator where my role was to lead all desktop support and all server, network, and system administration for the company. This included two offices in South Jordan, a headquarters in Virginia, and a sister company in Washington. This included server backups, setting up new servers, setting up NAS storage devices, switching out our Cisco gateway devices with Juniper, setting up VPNs, managing MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases and database backups, hosting websites and SAAS software on servers and AWS using IIS, Apache and NginX, and more.I also worked on many large projects such as virtualizing our servers using KVM and Linux, as well as setting up a data center, moving from Exchange Server and Outlook to Google Apps and Gmail, transitioning from on premise servers to AWS, and switching all our services (S3/Glacier, Route 53, ELB, and more) over to AWS. Data Content Specialist
-
Sep 2009 - May 2011
I was promoted to Data Content Specialist after the completion of the ETL project. I assisted in ETL and was in charge of managing batches submitted from customers. This entailed taking data in various formats (excel, pdf, csv, etc.) and formatting it to get it into our database. This took an extensive knowledge of SQL Queries, Microsoft Access, and database structure. In doing batch management I was in charge of taking files from our customers, querying them against our system and loading them into our internal system for credentialing. During this time I also wrote a program for tracking batches using Visual Basic (VB) code in an Access Database file, which would track information, move files from folder to folder, and send emails seamlessly. Senior Content Analyst
-
May 2009 - Sep 2009
My job was locating data sources, credentialing, performing data verifications, and pulling content for the database. After 2 months we implemented a new internal system. With my technical background and my knowledge of programming, I was assigned the task of testing the system. After 3 months an Extract, Transfer and Load (ETL) project was created to load the data collected from our new sources and I was selected to help with the project. We used SQL Server Management Studio utilizing both SQL and SSIS packages to load the data. Show less
