Embedded software, device drivers, and development work for a variety of platforms and applications. While I am a software engineer in an official capacity, I routinely get involved in signal integrity, electrical, thermal, and even sometimes optical issues.I am typically pulled into development relating to communication bus technologies any time there is software that must configure, modify, or use a high speed serial bus. 10Gb Ethernet, Fibre Channel, IEEE-1394b, PCI Express, and AXI are all technologies I regularly encounter.Typical targets range from 805x and ARM-based microcontrollers to multi-core systems and compute clusters with FPGA SOC devices (e.g. Xilinx Zynq and Altera Cyclone V) being very common as well. My primary focus is on embedded Linux, but I also support bare metal code development, FPGA integration, FPGA development, hardware debug, and board level design. I am primarily a C programmer and my HDL of choice is Verilog, but I support development in C++ and Python as well.I am also working to introduce RISC V to our engineering organization at GDMS. I have an active interested in open source and open standards for both hardware and software.

Development of control firmware for high-end stereo gear; digital, analog, and related work as necessary as my involvement in the product life cycle grows. My work mostly targets Atmel devices for the purpose of controlling the operation of a standalone device. I developed embedded Linux firmware for FPGA based solid state drive emulation systems, and I was involved in some Verilog work targeting Xilinx ZYNQ system on chip devices. My responsibility was mainly diagnostic firmware, board bring up, embedded system monitoring applications development, and internal tools for updating and managing the deployed SSD emulation systems. Development was mainly in C, Verilog (when HDL was required), Tcl, bash scripts, and Python.
