I served as a course assistant (a.k.a. As an assistant I helped run class periods, provided feedback on system designs, held weekly office hours and graded labs. I served as a course assistant (a.k.a. • Research and Development Engineering Intern
      • May 2013 - Aug 2013

I developed and built a ball bearing launcher used for ANSI (American National Standards Institute) lawnmower structural integrity testing. After going through multiple design iterations and prototypes, I implemented a pneumatic re-loader and launcher controlled by a PLC. I also spent the summer learning about the values of lean manufacturing and business management at a large yet privately owned company through weekly meeting with executives. In addition to my work, I got to participate in a week long Kaizen (Japanese for "good change") Event. During this week, a team of five employees from different areas from within the company were assigned to observe, collect data and implement positive changes to a specific segment of the manufacturing process.
