Sandra Louie
I had the pleasure of advising Paul’s Special Project, a requirement for the completion of his Master of Science in Hospitality Management Studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Vancouver Campus, in the fall of 2019. During this time, I had the opportunity to assess Paul in the context of his academic submissions and his work ethic. I observed Paul as a hard-working, mature and conscientious student with a positive attitude toward academic and workplace learning. I was impressed by this strong work ethic and his ability to encourage and offer support to his team mates. He always took the initiative to communicate with me, on behalf of his team, to establish and confirm assignment guidelines well ahead of deadlines. In doing so, he not only produced excellent assignment results, but he also created a strong rapport with me enabling me to see his potential as an enthusiastic, thoughtful and well-focused individual, with strong practical and creative problem solving, decision making, and leadership abilities; all essential qualities for a successful tourism professional. As an experienced educator, I have assessed hundreds of students. Based on my observations of Paul, I have concluded that his exceptional academic abilities combined with his professional aptitude and experience will make him an asset to any employer.
