    • Features Writer
      • Jan 2014 - Mar 2014

      As a features writer, I worked as part of a team producing content for all parts of the section, including lifestyle and reviews, for both the print edition of the paper and online platforms. Copy was researched and written to a strict deadline of a week from pitching the idea, and must be relevant to a student audience. As additional content I pitched the idea of, and managed, a special section to cover London Fashion Week in the form of a live blog. In a first for the newspaper, I covered catwalk shows by UAL alumni and published photos and videos live from the shows to the paper’s social media accounts. The piece was extremely successful and resulted in driving traffic to the paper's online platform and showed an increase in the average visitor's time on the site. Key responsibilities:• To attend and contribute to the weekly features, lifestyle and reviews editorial meeting and pitch ideas keeping in mind the interests of the target audience; • To generate ideas for features output on all platforms and in all sections; • Producing engaging features content to a consistently high standard, and where possible including additional multimedia content such as video, photo galleries; • Ensuring good communication is kept with the features, lifestyle and reviews editor over ideas, delivery and deadlines; • To liaise with the picture desk to ensure that picture requests are made in a timely and effective manner;
