I worked directly with Andrea from April 2009 to September 2014 when she was the Sales Associate, Meetings & Conventions, Washington D.C., and Eastern U.S. markets, reporting to two Sales Managers and me. Her ability to effectively manage and balance these markets' workloads with three very different personalities (2 in remote offices!) immediately came through. Andrea proved to be a great asset as she efficiently handled multiple assignments, seamlessly balanced the workload by prioritizing, and always made the deadlines. She works well under pressure, has strong communication skills, and, during this time, emerged as a leader amongst her peers. Andrea played a critical role, as part of the team, in winning the largest meeting to date Vancouver will host in 2025. Throughout the bid process - from communicating/managing the information needed to create a customized, intricate bid book, to coordinating/managing a site inspection for 14 customers, while working alongside me to build on these relationships and help where needed – her strengths in all these areas shined. Andrea is a fantastic colleague and friend. She is honest, transparent, insightful, funny, and easy to connect. I was thrilled to see her get promoted to Manager, MIND Partnership for Tourism Vancouver because she was such a natural fit for this position. She worked hard to grow this network, connect local industry leaders, and rebrand this incredible program to what it is today. She has left an excellent mark with the Mind Program, and we will miss working with her, but can't wait to see where this journey takes her.
