David worked for me on a contract basis for several months in the early part of 2009. We were working on a scenario generation project in support of developing the corporate strategy. David provided amazing insight and knowledge and demonstrated very creative thinking and a great ability to work with the IAMGOLD executive group get the job done. David's input was instrumental in getting the scenarios completed and delivered to our board. The finished product was very complete and professional and impressed all of those involved in the project.

David was a member of the BHP client metallurgical plant team for the Hartley Platinum project in Zimbabwe. He worked in our offices for an extended period during the design of the concentrator, smelter, base metal refinery and surface infrastructure, with his primary responsibility being the smelter, before relocating to Zimbabwe where he was involved in hiring and training staff, commissioning the plant and ultimately managing the smelter operation. David was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and highly professional in his interaction with the Bateman team designing the smelter and procuring the equipment and material needed to build it. He showed an excellent grasp of practical application of design techniques to achieve a safe, efficient, ergonomic and environmentally superior design, and demonstrated a very good understanding of the social structure in Zimbabawe which influenced the design significantly. The client team was decisive and helpful in enabling us as the contractors to achieve the project goals, and David was a key contributor. I enjoyed working with him and would readily do so again if the opportunity arises. Steve Burks
