Alexa will be a fantastic employee for some lucky firm upon her graduation from Ithaca College. I can say this confidently because I worked closely with Alexa during her internship with our mutual fund company, Adirondack Funds. Alexa originally approached me at the beginning of her senior year with a very professional and personalized introductory email. Our firm has a history of hiring many interns, but most of the time, we focus on finance majors, unlike Alexa, who was in the School of Communications. Still, I was so impressed with her that I decided to make an exception and bring Alexa on in an important role for her senior year. Since Ithaca College is located two hours from our firm's headquarters, I knew she had to be mature enough to be given a couple tasks, handle the deliverable, and report back or else the internship would not work. My firm has a growing relationship with Ithaca College through our Adirondack Cup Stock Picking Competition. It was Alexa's job to help us promote this student focused activity, work with faculty and our staff to arrange a couple of events pertinent to the contest. She is a fantastic worker and someone who I trust to represent Adirondack Funds when I am not able. Alexa is one of the rare interns who continues to improve our organization during her time with us. Alexa handled the role of event planner, public relations professional and super advocate during her time with us. She works with Ithaca College staff and faculty to arrange my visits to marketing classes and saves our firm a lot of time and effort. I understand that she would like to work in Sports Marketing, Public Relations, Pharmaceutical or Consumer Products sales, or Event Planning. I highly recommend her and encourage you to call me if you need more information pertinent to Alexa'a internship.
