Few people have had internships with a supervisor who truly aided in the success of a career. Without Katie and her amazing mentorship, I would not have been able to continue working at Duke University Press as a full time employee after graduating. While working with Katie, she allowed me to grow my skills by assisting with projects as well as guiding me to lead my own. She allowed me to ask as many questions as I needed to understand my task on a small scale and to learn for my future career. Katie made sure I got the most out of my internship and understood what it was like to work as an equal part to the journals marketing team. With all of these amazing attributes, as well as her enthusiasm for learning, she is incredible at anything she puts her mind to.

Katie is a smart, efficient, and capable team player. During her time in our department, she has been willing to help with whatever was needed. Katie always has a positive attitude and approaches her work with a critical eye--whether it's an exciting new marketing campaign or a more basic task. Katie is also a strong creative force--during our group brainstorming sessions, she has come up with great new ways to reach our academic audience. During a publicity project for our health policy journal, Katie went above and beyond to find new outlets to reach. A strong academic writer, a professional and cheerful colleague, and a productive worker, Katie is an asset to Duke University Press.
