Products: AirPods, AirPods Pro Max, HomePod, Apple Pencil, Apple TV 4K, MacBook Pro Force Touch Trackpads Accomplishments: • Led a manufacturing line refresh of over 60 semi and fully automated fixtures. • Addressed critical functional and cosmetic yield issues during Proto, EVT, DVT and MP builds impacting a yield improvement of over 20% through suggested design changes and improvement in process capability. • Collaborated in the design and bring up of sub-100um precision assembly machines for joining an over-molded metal and plastic component and a strain gauge assembly on a metal beam. • Developed data analysis tools in JMP that were adopted team wide - automated yield and Cpk analysis for critical product dimensions Responsibilities: • Working closely with the product design team to develop the assembly process for the Apple product. • Perform tolerance analysis on critical mechanical assemblies to refine the design for mass manufacturing • Driving developing of assembly and measurement systems requiring laser and camera systems through DFM reviews and Tolerance analysis in collaboration with the design team. • Regular travel overseas to collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot critical manufacturing issues arising during the bring up of new equipment, through DOE's. • Successfully leading automation development from concept to production while handing competing demands of cross functional teams and last minute design changes. • Statistical analysis of machine and manufacturing data (SPC) using JMP for FA/RCA and PFMEA. • Successful hand off to production and sustaining operation teams for replicating lines and adding capacity.
