Bio
Luis Mitchell, LCSW
Mr. Raymond interned at the Desert Mountain Children’s Center and he shadowed me during the 2021/2022 school year in the School Age Treatment Service program. From the beginning, Mr. Raymond showed curiosity for treatment and willingness to learn about various therapies and mental health disorders. Over the course of the year, he demonstrated advanced clinical framework. When I have had interns in the past, many, if not all of them had some prior experience with mental health support. Mr. Raymond was limited prior to meeting me but he presented as a natural provider. He did not shy away from engaging with students or difficult topics. If anything, he took on these opportunities and exceeded. He did an amazing job building rapport with clients and had many great and relatable interventions. Mr. Raymond participated in providing crisis intervention and stabilization several instances during the year under unfortunate circumstances. Mr. Raymond displayed strength in processing very difficult challenges within himself and about others. He is absolutely one of the best interns that I had. Mr. Raymond possesses many valuable qualities and skills and will be a gem to anything he puts his efforts towards.
