This recommendation is long overdue. I started working with Ross just over one year ago and I regularly ask to have him included in my projects. Ross is one of the most hardworking, dedicated, knowledgeable, and talented developers I have worked with. Plus his optimism and sense of humour help the team going, when everyone is feeling the pressure of tight timelines. Based on my experience working with Ross, his most noteworthy contribution was as a lead developer on one of my projects during 1H21. Due to external circumstances, the project timelines were short but Ross remained focused throughout the development period, asking questions along the way and to this day, his contributions have resulted in zero production issues. I am not exaggerating. Not only did Ross deliver quality solutions, he took the time to make sure that everything he did could be understood by the current team and any colleagues, who would need to review his work in future. No reverse engineering to be expected. Furthermore, Ross is a colleague I always know I can depend on to help me solve technical problems that are beyond my capabilities. Ross is a thoughtful problem solver, who takes the time to understand an issue, view it in workable parts and solve the problem in an orderly fashion. Moreover, Ross makes it a point to learn from past experiences, which helps us identify recurring issues that we can then take preventative measures to avoid. Overall, Ross is wonderful to work with and a valuable asset to any team.
Corey Alexander, M.Sc.
Ross is one of the most passionate software developers I have worked with at Tulip. He always strives to build sustainable and well tested software, with a forward thinking attitude towards the next developer. Ross is a strong advocate of best practices within his team, especially when it comes to how the team is learning or onboarding on new team members. Where I think Ross really stands out, is his ability to research, break down, and apply various topics. This came in very handy when our team started investing more time into learning and using TypeScript, Unit Testing methodologies, and automation frameworks such as GitLab pipelines. Ross instrumental in spreading this knowledge around the team and ensuring a successful adoption of these practices.
