This involves formulating research questions, identifying data sources, collecting and analysing both quantitative and qualitative data. Examples of innovation projects include UNICEF's role in supporting country offices with technical assistance for the oxygen response to COVID-19, digital tool development for health emergency facilities with WHO and MSF, data dashboard to track and report on innovation efforts and business growth. I also implement needs-based gap analysis, market surveys and forecasting of innovative products in the humanitarian world. For a project focusing on enabling access to clean drinking water, I developed a framework to evaluate technology, product and commercial readiness of innovations to strengthen project strategies and support decision-making. I also perform various data deliveries to identify product gaps and areas of development.
