Shikhar and I started our entrepreneurial journey together with The Tarzan House and later with The Tarzan Way. There is no person I would've liked to have by my side for the past 3 years during all the ups and downs that a startup eventually has to overcome. Together we've done everything from working 18 hours a day to running after clients all day. We have gone through the absolute worst days when nothing we did seemed to work but we still strode on knowing we had each others back to eventual successes where we celebrated like there was no tomorrow. He is a person who embodies what being a leader and an entrepreneur is. Someone with a burning fire inside to always strive for excellence while pushing everyone around him to be their absolute best. Some things that I learned from him are punctuality, his determination to always overcome anything thrown at him and a good hearted nature which will never do anyone wrong. I wish him and his endeavours all the success in the world and hope that we get to work together again.

The Tarzan House was a bootstrapped venture during my initial years in college. With the vision to provide a home-like experience to travelers coming to New Delhi for long-term as well as short term stays. - During my experience here, we hosted travelers from all around the world coming to Delhi for purposes varying from tourism to education to volunteering, from hosting events to conferences, and what not. - We hosted many tours and events as a part of this venture, and learned a lot… Show more The Tarzan House was a bootstrapped venture during my initial years in college. With the vision to provide a home-like experience to travelers coming to New Delhi for long-term as well as short term stays. - During my experience here, we hosted travelers from all around the world coming to Delhi for purposes varying from tourism to education to volunteering, from hosting events to conferences, and what not. - We hosted many tours and events as a part of this venture, and learned a lot about the problems which inbound as well as domestic tourists face in India. - After hosting 1000+ guests, and creating trips for 350+ travelers, we realized that this business was extremely labor-intensive as well as capital-intensive, so we decided to shut down all the operations towards the end of 2017. - We managed to achieve revenues of more than INR 20L during this venture. - I played multiple roles during this experience, in Client Relations, Business Development, Sales (On-Ground), Digital Marketing and Management. - I hired and managed a team of 15 people. (including freelancers, interns and full-time employees) over a period of 1 year. - I definitely intend on revisiting this interesting concept sometime in the future with better funding and a much more scalable business model. Major takeaways: 1. This was my first experience in an early-stage startup as a founder, and it had plenty of ups and downs, so I realized there are a lot of things which need to be considered before jumping into a venture. 2. I learnt how to deal with different kinds of people, whether partners, clients, middleman and much more. 3. I got a complete idea about the functioning of the travel industry in detail due to extensive research about different parts of India and handling loads of customers. 4. I learnt how to solve different problems, which are a part of any startup journey. 5. This experience was the inception of The Tarzan Way, an AI-powered platform to provide tailor-made travel plans. AIESEC is one of the world's largest student run organizations, with the vision to achieve peace and fulfillment of human kind's potential. - Successfully handled a team of 7 members, working for business development, sales, as well as customer experience department. - Our target was to raise organisations, and pitch the projects created by us, with the organisations to international volunteers/interns. - Along with that, we had to take care of their experience throughout the project.
