I've had the pleasure of working with Kate for many years at KGO-TV in San Francisco. As the evening news anchor, I work with Kate directly everyday on the 6:00pm broadcast that she so ably produces. Kate is a remarkable colleague in every respect. As a producer, she brings years of experience, first-rate judgement, and a friendly and collaborative approach to her job. She consistently demonstrates solid decision making, leadership, and a sense of purpose in her role. She cares deeply about her craft and her responsibility to our viewers and it is a privilege to work along side of her every day as we report the news. Kate is a rock solid journalist and person.

Kate was wonderful to work with. She (Executive Producer) and I (Production Supervisor) helped launch a brand new TV news operation in about four months. We started with nothing in October 2014 and CBS-4 in Indianapolis hit air on January 1st 2015. If you didn't know better, you'd think our news team had been together for years. That couldn't have happened without her work ethic and attention to detail.

I produce the #1 newscast on ABC7. The 6 p.m. is also the top-rated evening newscast in the San Francisco Bay Area market, the sixth largest market in the country. My work here earned me my first Emmy award for Best Evening Newscast for the show on November 8, 2018, the day the Camp Fire started to burn in Butte County. I have also received multiple Emmy nominations in several categories. Our station's new initiative called "Building a Better Bay Area" is frequently showcased in this newscast. The initiative focuses on solution-based stories and highlighting the big issues our viewers face here. I am the station's first producer to begin creating digital content, both written articles and videos, in addition to producing a daily newscast. Several of my research projects have been published online. Throughout the pandemic, I've maintained a daily timeline of major events impacting the Bay Area and beyond. Show less

After almost 60 years, the CBS affiliation moved from WISH to WTTV in Indianapolis and I was part of the team brought in to launch the new CBS4. I arrived one month before launch and in that time I helped set and select camera shots in studio, worked with lighting technicians, fine tuned our graphics and animations package, created the CBS4 Style Guide, and designed rundown templates for the 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts. We launched CBS4 WTTV on January 1, 2015 during a New Year's Eve special event which I field produced. In our first month on the air we produced special coverage for the Colts postseason as the exclusive Home of the Indianapolis Colts. In February sweeps our 11 p.m. newscast debuted at #2 in the market. For March Madness I helped coordinate with multiple field crews traveling to different game sites. Indianapolis is home to the NCAA Final Four and our coverage included several live field shows with multiple cameras, guests, and anchors on set. I started as Executive Producer for the 11 p.m. newscast and within a year became responsible for the 5 & 6 p.m. as well as the Noon newscasts, which were among our highest rated programs. Show less

FOX40 NEWS @ 5 P.M.We launched this expansion of our evening news in November 2013. I became responsible for the busiest hour of news on FOX40, coordinating stories from morning, dayside, and nightside crews, plus live breaking news as it happened. I also routinely booked live reporters with our affiliate stations.FOX40 NEWS @ 6 P.M.In January 2012, I moved from mornings to dayside upon request to launch FOX40 News @ 6 p.m., which doubled our existing evening news from 30 minutes to one hour. The primary directive was to make the second half of the show look, feel, and sound different from the first half. With freedom, innovation, and creativity, we accomplished that. It's easier to show than tell so please watch my reel for samples of how I can produce outside the box: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL05B984AC5DD671F6FOX40 NEWS @ 11 A.M./9 A.M.In September 2009, less than a year after I began producing, the News Director chose me to launch the first midday show in station history. We created a 60 minute mix of news and feature stories designed to draw on the strengths of our morning show and cover news as it happened both locally and nationally. I worked with our affiliate stations in Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, New York, and Chicago to bring a broader mix of stories to our viewers. This newscast was later moved to the 9 a.m. timeslot to expand our morning show to 5.5 hours.FOX40 MORNING NEWSMy first newscast in October 2008 was the 6 a.m. hour of our 4.5 hour morning show. Many of the segments and breakouts I created were reused by producers in later hours, which my Executive Producer said was a main reason they wanted me to produce in that early timeslot. Show less

I recruited advertisers for print publications, registered optometrists and their staff for educational conferences, and created event signage. Of my own initiative, I analyzed the data provided by doctors during our educational conferences to provide our department with feedback about what worked, what didn't, and what was most effective. This was my first full-time job after graduating college. It's a small business (I was the fourth employee) and my job was to research and pitch a variety of promotional products to clients including movie studios, TV networks, state agencies, non- and for-profit companies. The products included clothing, bags, pens, stickers, and custom items. This was my first full-time job after graduating college. I worked at the Student Housing TV station from my first month of college until graduation. While a student employee, I learned every skill available - cameras, audio, chyrons, technical directing, and directing. We created both live and taped educational shows for students. I also took on daily broadcast responsibilities for four channels which included scheduling playback, creating announcements and summaries of our content, and generating PSAs for students living in the dorms.
