In this capacity I was tasked with defining standard managed service products for the European market. Working through a full product development and management lifecycle, this job involved research, building business cases and cash flow forecasts, prototyping, pricing, and documentation. More recently I have been streamlining and automating NTTE’s internal procedures for project initiation, resourcing, and team collaboration by customising Infopath templates in combination with Window Sharepoint services, and Microsoft Project 2003 server. Documentation has also formed a significant part of my workload throughout the various phases of this contract.

The delivery of this project was at risk of failing, and was already several months overdue. I was brought in to take over management of the project due to my experience in both project management and hands on technical expertise in outsourced IT management. My key remit was to get the project back on schedule, and to that end I introduced a structured project management approach (Prince 2), and service delivery best practices based on the ITIL standard. The successful introduction of controls and transparency resulted in this project being brought back onto schedule and budget.

I was a member of the IT steering committee, and one of my remits was to identify revenue opportunities for LogicaCMG which would also improve ECGD’s network. Achievements while in this position included significant reduction in unplanned server outages through the introduction of change control, documented process and standard builds, scheduled maintenance, and configuration management. I also project managed the selection and implementation of a SAN, and planned and project managed the implementation of a hardware based remote access solution that complied with stringent government and international security standards for networks that form part of the Government Secure Intranet (GSI).
