  I am an active member of The Food Waste Collective, a Brighton-based food waste action group, and in October 2014 I project managed a one day awareness-raising event at local festival The Lantern Fayre. I managed a budget, liaised with The Lantern Fayre organisers, delegated roles to Food Waste Collective members, networked with other food waste projects in the city, wrote press releases, organised surplus food donors collections and storage, catalogued donations, allocated on the day volunteer roles, and prepared all of the relevant risk assessment and food safety paperwork. At the event, we used 1/2 a tonne of surplus fresh and dried produce from around the city and transformed it into around 1200 servings of hot nutritious food for festival attendees to enjoy for free.
