Research work with Dr. Thomas Cook: • Proposed a parametric shared frailty model to recover the trajectory of, and identify the effect of treatment on, the non-fatal event process in the presence of the competing risk of death. • Extended the Cox proportional hazards model under the principal stratum estimand in the presence of the competing risk of death. Research work with Dr. Jiwei Zhao: • Assessed and compared generalized linear mixed models, generalized estimating equations, and permutation tests in the analysis of stepped-wedge trials with simulations. • Evaluate the efficacy of oral vancomycin prophylaxis for prevention of recurrent Clostridium difficile infection in Oral Vanc clinical trial, led by Dr. Nasia Safdar. Research work with Dr. Richard Chappell: • Pre-specified the time at which conducting milestone survival analysis yields the highest power. • Identified scenarios where milestone analysis yields greater power than the log-rank test, in the context of treatment effect delays in cancer immune therapies.

Research work with Dr. Rebecca Myerson: • Built difference-in-differences and regression discontinuity models and wrote programs to estimate the causal effects of Medicaid and Medicare policy on cancer quality of care measures. • Investigated the impact of navigator programs on health insurance coverage, using funding cuts under the Trump administration as a natural experiment.
