Ryan Rebueno
I want to write a testimonial to my friend, confidant, and mentor here -Emily Wu Truong. Back in 2016, I was in the depths of depression and battling suicidal ideations for the better part of 18 years. I had no where to go, no plans for the future, no past to show for. The mental health clinic I was going to at the time suggested I go to a mental health talk in San Gabriel. There I met Emily and a panel of accomplished advocates whose lives have been touched by mental health challenges or tragedies in one form or another. Hearing their heart breaking stories of loss, bullying, suicide, stigma and how they've overcame, gave me the inspiration that if they can make, I can make it too! Emily saved my life. I was well on my way to giving up, but hearing her story, her panel's story and her friendship gave me the strength to preservere on💚.
