Dave is one of the hardest working people I know. His passion and dedication for his work is second to none. He is always in good spirits and even when he's a little down he lights up when the mic comes on and the cameras rolls. It was always a pleasure to share the camera with Dave because he listens with his ears and not his mouth. I would not hesitate one second if given the chance to work with him again.

Local Honolulu Host for statewide broadcast of NPR's All Things Considered national afternoon drive radio show, the most listened to afternoon drive program in Hawaii. Hosted on-location interviews with Smokey Robinson, Paramore, Sir Cliff Richard, Willie Nelson, Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi, The Supremes' Mary Wilson, Sammy Hagar and Jimmy Cliff among them. Hosted in-studio interview / performance segments including Booker T. Jones, Hot Tuna, Roger McGuinn of The Byrds, Taj Mahal, Ben Vereen, Switchfoot, Journey's Neal Schon, Godsmack and Ziggy Marley. Other notable guests include Judas Priest's Rob Halford, Glen Campbell, Korn's Jonathan Davis, Bill Cosby, Kris Kristofferson, Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello, George Clinton, Beach Boys' Brian Wilson, Incubus, and Anne and Nancy Wilson from Heart to name a few. Host of two All Things Considered regular weekly interview elements: Stargazer and Helping Hand. Stargazer is produced as a Monday feature with local and international astronomy coverage, including updates on research at Mauna Kea summit on Hawaii Island and Haleakala on Maui via the Mauna Kea Astronomy Outreach Committee. It airs each Monday on All Things Considered, The Conversation and Morning Edition on HPR stations statewide. Helping Hand airs each Friday at 5:30pm at the most widely heard moment of the show, exposing organizations assisting the disabled and those with special needs, giving them a platform for visibilty and fundraising. Helping Hand is also a directory of services via the online archive of segments and contact info at HPR's site. Helping Hand is dedicated to my Mom and greatest friend ever, Isobel A. Kramen, and is my way of honoring her by advocating for the most vulnerable in society. From the homeless to the hungry, the abused to the elderly, and everyone facing the extraordinary challenges of life, they are all included in Helping Hand. Show less

I was a member of the air staff and did weekends plus weekday fill-ins including many weeks of covering the evening show 7-Mid.; Morning Drive Producer for Charles Laquidara from Nov.1997 - January 1999 as guest booking/relations liaison, interview writer; Production Assistant from 1999 to 2002 with additional copy-writing duties. Worked first as a Promotions intern for Cha-Chi Loprette, then as an intern for Mark Parenteau, before gradually adding days on his afternoon show until I was the full-time, paid Afternoon Producer. Added Production Assistant duties in 1995, and then Copywriter duties in 1999. Left in 2001 to concentrate on air gig at WZLX. Worked first as a Promotions intern for Cha-Chi Loprette, then as an intern for Mark Parenteau, before gradually adding days on his afternoon show until I was the full-time, paid Afternoon Producer. I was the Program Coordinator for the afternoon show, Gyroscope, and a show host of the popular program. In 1993 I conceived and produced a 10-track full length CD, the first-ever from Emerson or WERS, based on live in-studio recordings made my local musicians in the world music/international genre. Seven of the ten tracks were recorded by me, while all the material was selected by myself and comes from entirely student-produced on-air sessions. I produced the CD with our gifted staff production instructor Brian Doser. It remains a compelling listen and diverse snapshot of arguably the peak of the Boston-area world music scene. Show less
