The REA is the largest renewable and clean tech trade association in the UK, representing around 550 organisations, including generators, project developers, investors and equipment producers. Members range in size from major multinationals to sole traders operating across the energy sector; including heat, power and transport. I work within the REA policy team, looking after our Energy from Waste and Finance members, as well as being policy lead for Brexit and the Industrial Strategy. Direct responsibilities:- Coordinating the REA’s sector group for Energy from Waste, including Advanced Conversion Technologies. - Running the REA Finance Forum, a platform for senior financiers in renewables. The forum aims to bring renewable technology developers and financers together to optimise the flow of funds into renewable technologies.- Policy Lead for analysing the risks and opportunities arising from Brexit and the Governments Industrial Strategy.Key expertise:- In-depth knowledge of UK energy policy, including power, heat and transport – particularly in relation to finance, Brexit and waste. - Understanding the UK policy requirements for waste infrastructure and developments of the circular economy. - Building working relationships with politicians and civil servants to feed into the policy-making process. - Providing clear, concise and insightful analysis of future risks and opportunities around policy developments to all members.- Managing members, often competing, interests as transparently as possible to find the most suitable outcome for the sector. - Managing good and cooperative relationships with other trade bodies operating within the industry.- Writing strong and well-supported evidence in response to Government consultations. - Representing the REA and its members while talking at UK conferences and trade shows. - Managing and keeping up-to-date with a wide range of continuously evolving sectors.

Established in 2009, LoCO2 Energy was an independent renewable and low carbon energy supplier with over 8000 customers across the UK. They were part of the TLS Energy Ltd group who also develop micro-hydro projects and supported independent renewable generators across the country. In 2017, after I left, the company was sold to Solarplicity.I was responsible for managing the implementation of UK energy sector policy and regulation.Main Responsibilities:▪ Sat on the managerial team, personally responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance within the company as it grew.▪ Analysis of costs and risks to the company resulting from ongoing regulatory change.▪ Leading on the implementation of new regulatory processes and rules. ▪ Managed all regulatory reporting to meet requirements set by Ofgem and DECC.▪ Ensuring correct complaint resolution with customers. ▪ Primary spokesperson for the company to industry stakeholders, representing the company's views at industry round-tables and workshops, as well as replying to Requests for Information and regulatory consultations released by Ofgem, DECC and the CMA.

AIESEC is a global student society focused on running an international exchange program, sending students to work abroad. During my presidency AIESEC Cambridge produced the society’s best results in ten years.
