Dress for Success is a non-profit organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. The Going Places Network by Walmart focuses on building and enhancing a client’s career development tools which ultimately increases their employability. The program helps clients gain professional skills, accelerate their job search and builds confidence through weekly training sessions, one-on-one career coaching and networking in a supportive environment. Implemented, oversaw and managed the Chicago Chapter of The Going Places Network by Walmart. Launched the inaugural Chicago program with in less than six weeks within a start-up office. Facilitated six 12-session programs with a total of 100+ participants. Conducted, as a leader or co leader, 72 workshops on topics including: Organizing Your Job Search, Change Management, Identifying Your Transferable Job Skills, Identifying the Right Job for You, Resume Writing, Cover Letters & References, Interview Tips & Techniques, Building Your Personal Brand, Handling Rejection, Managing Your Personal Finances and Mock Interviews – Putting Your Best Face Forward. Managed, organized and planned all details of a PGA TOUR golf tournament, nationally televised on USA/ABC with an annual on-site attendance of nearly 100,000 people. Responsible for $650,000 operational budget within $9M overall tournament budget. Implemented and supervised the re-branding of the tournament from Buick Classic to Barclays Classic. Serviced over 50 corporate hospitality clients arranging for: caterer, signage, floral, tent interiors and merchandise needs. Negotiated, sourced and implemented all PGA TOUR professional arrangements, including multiple hotel contracts, entertainment contracts, travel logistics and all other special requests. Acted as liaison between PGA TOUR and vendors including Westchester Country Club’s food and beverage staff, pro-shop staff, security, on-course caterer, signage company and tent company. Arranged and executed several other special events for all groups affiliated with the tournament’s success: Sponsor Day, Media Day/Golf Outing, Youth Clinic, PGA TOUR Wives Outing and Family BBQ, etc. Oversaw the recruitment, supervision, organizational structure and management of over 1500 volunteers. Guided and managed the volunteer executive board and a variety of other committees consisting of high profile volunteers from four local charities.
