In this role, she is responsible for several projects including the Family Child Care, Infant and Toddler Initiatives within the Texas School Ready Project and the Texas Home Visiting Training Institute. This is a new project and collaboration between the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and CLI, the purpose of this new initiative will be to create a model neutral professional development system for all home visitors regardless of the model. In November 2009, Ms. Brown was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to serve on the Texas Early Learning Council and in August 2012 she was appointed chair of this Council. She still serves as chair of the Council.
