      Richard is responsible for the IT infrastructure, services and support functions of the converged academies within the Trust. The virtualisation environments include VMWare and Hyper-V server estates, HP networking and managed Ruckus wireless. Biometric technology is used for authentication at EPOS terminals. Papercut for print management, SALTO/Paxton access control, Axis CCTV, Sage financial accounting. A developing student CYOD strategy is being designed to address the growth in student numbers across the region and improve the flexibility by which teachers can deliver modern learning in the classroom more naturally. Richard also takes a lead role in developing the college's bespoke intranet, which includes portals for staff, student, parent users, as well as those with governance responsibilities within the Trust, including Trustees, Local Governing Body Governors and Members. This comprehensive platform has been developed in partnership between all stakeholders to facilitate communications, ultimately aiding the achievement of teaching and learning objectives, as well as streamlining administrative functions and high level reporting. Data features include Assessment, Attendance, Behaviour, Intervention, Timetabling and Rewards, as well as Policy and Exams Management and AD tools such as automated User and Group Management. Mentioned several times in their report of June 2012, OFSTED have recognised that the way in which the college develops and utilises these self-designed solutions has demonstrated a significant impact on the way that teachers can identify and stay abreast of individual student needs through targeted intervention, which in turn drives success by students in achieving their potential. These are now being shared with other schools beyond the Trust. Intranet technologies include PHP, HTML(5), MySQL, MSSQL, LDAP (MS AD), JQuery, Javascript, AJAX, SOAP (EWS) and other API interactions. Show less
