I was placed on the Argonne National Labs Project for my second internship at Turner. The project is a data center expansion and exterior renovation. My job duties included: - Reviewing, approving, and processing RFIs and submittals through coordination with engineers and subcontractors. RFI and Submittal coordination was done through Procore. - Marking up drawings in Bluebeam to send to engineers, architects, subcontractors, or the client if there was an error, question, or clarification. - Analyzing and organizing architectural and engineering drawings, as well as specifications, through Procore and Bluebeam. - Participating in OAC, design team, BIM coordination, staff, foreman, and daily huddle meetings. I lead our team's staff meetings as well as took meeting minutes/notes in all meetings. - Coordinating and preparing documentation for an ISO45001 Safety Audit - Formulating pricing for part of the project. This included me sending drawings out for pricing and determining scope for each subcontractor -Touring the project site daily to learn the specific work done by subcontractors Show less

I interned at Turner for a 6 week virtual/on site internship program. Virtual days consisted of taking online classes within Turner's University system as well as joining in meetings with different people across the company. Some topics of the classes were OSHA 30 Hour Training, Structural Steel Engineering and Fabrication, Building Envelope Overview, and MEP Fundamentals. In person days were tours on current Turner job sites allowing us interns to ask many questions about the construction process while also completing activities throughout the day. Many of the in person days were used for us to collaborate in teams to work on a project that was presented at the end of the internship. The project was to create a response to an RFP and present in a mock interview. Overall, I learned about every aspect of the construction process throughout this internship and I am glad to have this new wealth of knowledge. Show less

Modeled a human eye and micro-camera in Solidworks. Conducted finite element analysis in ANSYS Workbench Steady-State and Transient Thermal of heat flow in the human eye. Examined the heating and cooling potential of a micro-camera inside the human eye to determine if the micro-camera is safe to use based on FDA standards. Analyzed the temperature distribution in the human eye caused from an Eye Cooling Ring device to determine its capability to treat an eye with ocular trauma.
