Due to the reformed specification this year in both subjects there has been an increased amount of learning, planning and creating new resources to effectively deliver the qualification to which I have relished the challenge. Engaging with the board and networking with professionals around the country has supported the successful delivery of this qualification reform. A focal point of my work this year has been to develop collaborative working, in and outside of lessons, between staff and students utilising digital technologies. Alongside this I also take pride in building positive relationships with parents, whilst also engaging in communications with outside parties to deliver workshops and educational visits as part of widening the student experience. Within this dynamic role I ensured that students were achieving their full academic potential throughout their studies, which was often the result of timely interventions, carefully implemented study plans or through the delivery of specific study skills lessons. Student Achievement and pastoral care was paramount however a large focus of the planning and delivery in this role was based upon Personal and Professional Development with employability and progression at the core. This was a crucial segment of a students personal and academic journey so effective supporting was provided to students in choosing the correct Higher Education option, completing UCAS applications and preparing individuals for interviews. In addition to creating and delivering a bespoke scheme of work I was also the lead co-ordinator for the Students Union; being a (LVP) Learner Voice Practitioner it was my responsibility to ensure that the voice of the student body was heard and the Union were working effectively to action developments throughout the college. As pastoral care was a large element of this position, in such a diverse college, I was also delighted to be part of the Equality and Diversity steering group which enabled a greater insight and influence into college wide priorities and initiatives. During my final year here I also coordinated the Extended Project Qualification managing a range of supervising staff including the Principal and members of the Senior Leadership Team. This incredibly exciting and diverse addition to my role enabled me to implement trips and organise guest lecturers to support students throughout their qualification. Show less
