In the summer of 2015, I interned in the surgical department of the Modesto facility as apart of the then-known Kaiser Summer Youth Employment Program (S.Y.E.P.). As an intern, I assisted in the coordination and execution of the performance improvement project to redesign and organize the closets within selected trial run operating rooms. Our efforts saved over $60,000.00 for three operating rooms alone. Our efforts saved over $60,000.00 for three operating rooms alone. The following summer of 2016, I assisted in the implementation of the performance improvement project in which I created, implemented, and executed a new telephone script to reduce the Fail-to-Keep Appointment rate for the patients of the Modesto Pediatrics facility by more than 50% while assisting patients in scheduling, and/or rescheduling, their immunization appointments for a better time and date; all this while simultaneously mentoring and assisting three other interns whose projects I also aided into fruition. I also took initiative to volunteer and assisted in the interview screening, hiring, and onboarding process of the new cohort of high school interns that year. Became HIPPA trained and was familiarized with the EPIC system in order to see my mentee's and I's project's bloom into fruition.
