      Eighteen passionate immigrant leaders make up the first group for Immigrants Lead Boston. A program by the Mayor's Office for Immigrant Advancement for Boston immigrants who wish to take more civic ownership and become leaders in the community. They represent nine Boston neighborhoods and range in age from 20 to 60 years old. They come from 17 different countries and speak 20 different languages.Participants learn public policy at the municipality level on education, public safety, housing, economy, city budget processes and advocacy. In addition to meeting key City of Boston officials and learn how to effectively navigate local government, participants culminate their knowledge in a Civic Capstone project.
