      Developing proprietary pulp screening equipment

    • Research Assistant and PhD Student
      • Sep 2007 - Nov 2013

His doctoral research at The University of British Columbia focused on the flow of pulp and fibrous suspension within pulp screening equipment. Particle Image Velocimetry, (PIV), was introduced in his research to investigate the effect of air-foiled rotor on the flow of particles within pulp slotted pressure screens. His observations challenged the existing models of apertures being cleared by the flow reversal driven by a Bernoulli-type suction pulse. His research is focused on the reasons behind pulp screen failure. The new mechanistic model that was first introduced in his PhD research is currently under investigation for patent proposal in collaboration with the University of British Columbia. The patent will introduce a new pulp screen rotor to improve the performance of pulp screening based on the model proposed. Show less
