    • Snr Project Manager
      • Jul 2016 - Jun 2017

TCC is a high speed environment that ensured that I learnt all their systems and procedures from the minute I walked through the door on day one.Companies that I have managed projects for are AMKA, Unilever, AVI, SAP and Diageo. The role of a project manager is to take a brief that is provided by the client and run the project from brief until the very last day until a consolidated report is handed to client. The roles include briefing and managing all departments such as store bookings, supervision, BAM, data. This role requires one to be very organized, good at communicating, committed as well as good people management skills. Certain jobs require more involvement and require the project manager to have face time directly with the client. Show less

I have been working at DGB in the Marketing department for the last 4 years. Over and above the above mentioned work I have worked on PO10c, Zappa, Tang and Flamin’ Cockerel on a junior brand manager level for the last 12 months. This involved developing the marketing campaign, procuring the relevant elements to carry out the campaign as well as be a part of the decision making process of packaging changes/issues.DGB is a leader in their spirits category especially when it comes to company owned brands. I was a part of the tasting panel for the development of Strawberry Lips when we launch the product. More recently, I have been working on a product, alongside my Marketing Director, called Falmin’ cockerel for the last two years and we eventually launched in December 2015. The development of this product took many hours of input in terms of bottle options; label design, look and feel of the product, car calling names and eventually the whole persona of what the brand Flamin’ cockerel stands for. With DGB being this active in NPD, it has allowed to me gain allot of experience in this field.DGB has a very flat structure within their Marketing department hence I am in need of an outside opportunity to put my knowledge into practise on a daily basis. The benefit of this flat structure however is the exposure into every Marketing detail at DGB. Show less

    • Promotion Coordinator
      • Feb 2012 - Jul 2016

In this position, I am involved in the development and implementation of the Below the Line strategies of the Spirit Brands. For each of the activations, I allocate staff, arrange branding and the promotional mechanic. This involves running a team of in-house promoters, these promoters would submit reports and timesheets for each of the activations and I then collate these into one report and arrange payment for each promoter.I manage about 120 activations a weekend. In addition to all of the promoters I manage the Merchandisers, to ensure they were briefed at all times and to follow up that all work is completed to a satisfactory standard. Promotional items / give away items are needed for each activation; I am responsible for selecting and sourcing these items; that would be in line with the promotion strategy of the brand. Additionally I allocate these items to the various depots across southern Africa, for these the activations to be run on a national level. For each new product launch, I am involved with the planning and implementation of the launch to the Sales team, the Customers, and ultimately the consumers.I also design all the promotional clothing that our promoters wear and work closely with the dress makers to ensure that we receive a uniform that in inline with the products strategy.I currently manage over 500 promoters which make up the 11 Inland promotional teams that I run.I have been working on 3 of our brands for the last 12 months on a junior brand manager level. I am involved with some NPD options on our shooter portfolio on a regular basis. Show less

    • Promotion Supervisor

For all activations and events, the venue needs to be branded and prepared. This includes building displays and putting up branding (posters, banners flags etc) and lighting, and I was responsible for setting this up. As well as briefing the venue manager and staff. Each brand would have a specific promotional mechanic and procedure for activation / event, and this would need to be communicated to each of the venues respectively. Creating a memorable experience is critical in converting consumers to your brand, having the venue branded in integral in creating this experience. In addition to this I needed to attend each event and supervise the promoters to ensure that they were doing their jobs correctly. I also needed to handle the money involved and deal with the managers while the event was running as well as close off the promotion by cashing up. Show less

DGB is a Wine and Spirits producer and distributor, and as part of their marketing activities they have internal staff to promote and activate their brands. I joined the promotions team as most of the shifts are in the evening and on weekends, so this did not interfere with my studies. This role is focused on marketing new or current brands to consumers. It is engaging with people and giving them a positive experience with to encourage, them to adopt the brand into their “drinking” repertoire. Show less

      • Jun 2010 - Jun 2010

During the Fifa World Cup in 2010 I worked for Pepsi and Chevron organizing the hospitality and travel packages of their competition winners and the CEO’s. This was done through a company called Sportsmark. The groups of people had agendas that we followed and ensured that the groups got to their planned activities on time. The activities which we arranged included attending soccer games, meeting Fernando Torrez, Lunch with Patrick Viera, a visit to a lion park. The job required a large amount of organizing and long hours throughout the month long event of the FIFA World Cup. There was intense training before the world cup to ensure that required skill set and understanding was present for the requirements of hospitality and events planning. Show less
