Alex is one of those extraordinary colleagues you get the chance to work with once in a while. He's a very sociable, humorous and easy-going fellow, but also very caring and serious about his work and colleagues. A rock-solid teamplayer!

I worked with Alex together at Aftonbladet, on different project, but within same department. It was really a pleasure to co-work with him. Alex is easy to communicate, always pays attention to details, is always ready to help and tries to solve problems even if they are not in area of his responsibility. Showing an interest to all new technologies and at same time being experienced in existent ones, Alex is ready to provide new solutions and keep his skills up to date.

BookBeat is a service for listening to audiobooks and reading ebooks in your mobile device!BookBeat was founded in 2015 and is owned by Bonnier - one of the biggest media companies in Sweden. It is a digital subscription service in which you can consume as many books as you would like. BookBeat has a huge catalogue of several thousands of books.I helped building the company even before it even was registered. Formost I worked as lead iOS developer and iOS architect and team lead. I chose to develop the app in Swift. But I also set up the initial architecture for Android and helped with interviews for finding the right developers for both platforms.I also helped BookBeat with continuous integration, completely automating the releases to App Store as well as internal betas using Fastlane. I was part of Avanza's new mobile development team. I, together with some very skilled people, reinvented Avanza's iPhoneapp. We made a whole new design and rewrote the app from scratch in Swift. Millicom Digital Ventures (MDV) is a new initiative by the company Millicom. MDV works as an incubator for new cutting edge business ideas, which in time will become child companies. One of MDV’s many projects is a ”second screen” service which focuses on the South American market. The service is available on the web and on mobile. The challenge of the project was formost that since the app was directed to development countries the users would primarily have low end smartphones. The slow hardware as not the only concern, but the internet connection is also very poor and unreliable. This could lead to performance issues and puts huge demands on how much and when data is downloaded. The user interface had to look as good on small screens as well as big. Another challenge was to support Android version 2.3, which 25% of all users had. I designed the whole architecture for fetching, parsing and cacheing data from the backend. Show less

SMSGrupp (SMS Group) is a company which offers it’s users means to communicate as a group using text messaging (SMS). During 2013 they chose to develop mobile apps where the user can chat with each other over IP (similar to Facebook Messaging, Whatsapp and Viber). But what separates SMSGrupp from their competitors is that the mobile users without smartphones/internet can participate in the group chat as well, sending and receive the messages using text messaging. Hence the app is a hybrid between IP and SMS. I rewrote big parts of the app and added new features, amongst others an event flow (e.g. user changes username or profile picture), changed to fetching data using web sockets rather than polling and also implementation of attaching and sending files and stickers. The app was released during Q1 of 2014 and has received wonderful reviews. It is an innovative app for text communication where even friends and family with ancient phones can chat. Show less

SBS Discovery Radio was earlier named SBS Radio and was bought during the beginning of 2013 by The Discovery Channel. The company is the biggest radio company in the whole of the Northern Europe. They own the following radio channels: NRJ, Mix Megapol, The Voice and Rockklassiker (Rock Classics) to name a few. During 2012 they developed their service Radioplay for iOS and Android. Using the apps one could listen to said radio stations for free. The project consisted of updating the Android app in a similar way the iOS app was updated a few weeks earlier. All views got a facelift and was made more intuitive. A lot of time was spent on profiling the app to determine which parts of it was worth optimizing in order to achieve the best possible performance. The performance was a challenge due to the big amount of images being fetched simultaneously.I was responsible for the same things as was done during the iOS project, with a focus on the coupling to the backend API for all the views. The project resulted in a great looking Android app with rich content. During 2012 they developed their service Radioplay for iOS and Android. Using the apps one could listen to said radio stations for free. The project consisted of giving the iOS app a completely new look and add new features. All of the views where remade in a more light and modern theme, which matched the new flat design introduced by Apple in iOS7. Part of the logic responsible for audio buffering and playback had to be rewritten. The added features were ”mood” radio - browsing of a collection of around 200 digital radio channels based on which mood the user were in. A playlist with radio channels could e.g. be named ”Sleep” and contains radio channels playing calm music or playlists with party music for those who want to party. The user could also mark radio channels as a favorite.I wrote all code in the app which communicated with the backend API for adding, removing and editing favorites. I also developed the majority of all the views in the app.The project resulted in a gorgeous app which resembled Apples’ iOS 7 apps. The app got more intuitive and stable. This version of the app got a higher user rating on AppStore than the previous ones. Show less

TV.NU is one of the biggest websites in Sweden with nearly two million unique visitors a week. The company provides TV guides for most of the TV channels being broadcasted in Sweden. TV.NU is also available on Android, Windows Phone and iOS devices. The iOS app has 800.000 users, of which many hundred thousands uses it daily. The project consisted of updating the iOS app with new features, fixing bugs and making the user interface more beautiful and intuitive. The support of such an old iOS version meant that a lot of features had to be implemented dynamically depending of the iOS version. Since the app had so many users the GUI had to be real clear and intuitive for all audiences, not only ”power users”. I worked a lot with the user interface. I also improved the performance of the app by optimizing the way the app fetched data from the backend API. I added new features such as trailers for movies and tv episodes and also play support (watching the show in the app). The result was a faster, more stable and good looking app with new features which improved its user ratings on AppStore. Show less

I modeled a fuel system so that troubleshooting could be automated, thus lowering the service cost of Scania's heavy vehicles and increasing the profit. The result was satisfactory, the model was verified by experts on the system and my supervisor was very happy with my work. I worked as a project leader and developer for Ericsson via the great creative bureau House of Radon, which made all the design for the product. The product I developed together with my collegues at Appr Software AB, were an iOS (iPhone and iPad) and an Android (phone + tablet) app for Ericsson's "studio" in Stockholm. The studio is a showroom to which they fly business partners from all over the world to show them their latest products. The user of the app can navigate through the showroom in a 3D model of it, read about Ericsson, their latest technologies and get tourist information about Stockholm. House of Radon acted as project leaders on the Ericsson side and provided us with content. It was a fun collaboration and the result was great looking apps which where used during the GSMA Mobile World Congress 2012. Show less
