• Led the technical team at NRC in two multi-party R&D projects: o HSVO (Health Service Virtual Organization, $2M): my team developed the generic SAVOIR platform (Service-oriented Architecture for Virtual Organization Infrastructure and Resources) to allow virtual immersive training with heterogeneous software and tools for medical school students and professionals (trials with four medical schools in Canada and Ireland). o Eucalyptus (User-Controlled Lightpath Enabled Participatory Design Studio, $1.2M): my team developed a customizable service-oriented collaboration environment utilizing user-controlled lightpath for on-demand broadband connectivity and high performance computational tools to support architects and designers working together in a virtual environment. o The Eucalyptus project won the 2007 Ontario Research and Innovation Optical Network (ORION) Discovery Award and the NRC Fredericton SAVOIR team has been recognized by New Brunswick’s Knowledge Industry Recognition and Achievement (KIRA) Awards as a 2009 finalist. o Effectively worked with collaboration partners (private sector, non-profit organizations, universities, and government) to analyze requirements and develop feasible technical solutions using state-of-the-art innovations. o Supervised teams that consisting of full-time system developers, fellow researchers, and students to deliver results on time and exceed project requirements. • Led the Weak Workflow research for another R&D project SynergiC3 ($5.5M) that collaborated with university and industry to significantly decrease production times and costs in developing eLearning content. • Lab manager for the Service-Oriented Systems Lab. • Published 25 research papers appearing in conference proceedings and journals. • Many invited talks, system demonstrations, and presentations for various technologies and research projects. • Served on program committees and reviewed papers for various conferences and journals.
