Oct 2021 - Present
The Code Switch mission is simply stated but hard fought: to eradicate the educational inequities that girls of color experience in U.S. K-12 schools. We leverage the transformative power of restorative justice education, culturally-affirming mentored relationships, and youth-led advocacy, to prepare girls, and those who parent, care for, and mentor them, to create a world that is more equitable and racially just! We envision schools where all girls can show up as their whole selves and achieve. We are committed to curating these spaces by dismantling the racially unjust policies, practices, and systems that girls, young womxn, and other folx of the global majority encounter. We will replace these oppressive systems with pathways to their healing, well-being and post-secondary success. Show less
