Bio
Ken Nakahara
In 2009, Dee approached us after working on the Building Code's energy conservation provisions for two years. Dee conducted inter-jurisdictional analysis of home energy ratings regulations and a comparison of LEED Canada and ASHRAE 189.1 as standards for government buildings. The work gave us some important insights into the green building standards under consideration. She also looked into a few related issues for me outside those two projects, and I've continued to find the work she did while she was here very useful. While working with us, Dee showed initiative, a thorough understanding of both technical and stakeholder concerns and an ability to produce sophisticated, relevant and accessible results. She has the ability to analyse and interpret detailed and highly technical information while keeping the big picture in sight. She keeps the scope of her work under control and the project objectives at the forefront. She expresses herself well both in writing and visually, and also has the analytical skills and numeracy of a professional engineer.
