• 1300+ Hours recorded • Study Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha (TNF-a) under the tutelage of Dr. Ignatowski • Masters Thesis on the Blockade of Brain Tumor Necrosis Factor to prevent development of Persistent Pain • Facilitated lab activities for undergraduate and graduate colleagues while mentoring new students • Performed several experiments on animals such as nociceptive and neuropathic pain test which included the Formalin Model, Chronic Constriction Injury Model (CCI), to induce hyper sensitization of neurons and measured the bioactivity levels of TNF • Delivered drugs to animals brain by the external vertebral venous plexus using by Perispinal Injection, which is a minimally invasive procedure that occurs around C7 and T1 discs of the spinal cord which demonstrated an analgesic effect in pain models • Developed an experimental paradigm which illustrated detailed steps for carrying out experiments • Performed Novel Object Recognition tests and Locomotion tests on animals to determine if an administered TNF antibody induced cognitive dysfunction due to Formalin induced pain • Harvested macrophages from the rat's serum and executed cell culture techniques such as splitting cells and viewing the cell count confluency under a hemocytometer to prepare for experiments • Cultivated WEHI-13VAR fibroblast cell lines to receive proper doses of adrenergic, cholinergic drugs or medication for appropriate experiments • Performed a bioassays to analyze brain tissue homogenates and blood serum for the presence of biologically active TNF and prepared a standard curve of recombinant rat TNF (rrTNF) to determine concentration of TNF in samples • Work in a competitive environment that requires clear and precise step-by-step rules while collaborating with scholars and the private investigator in weekly lab meetings • IACUC and CITI certifications in handeling, anesthesia, euthanasia, surgery, and post-op care in rodent/mouse models • Log detailed reports daily
