Senior Account Manager (Education K-12)
-
Nov 2013 - Feb 2015
ROLE: Senior Account Manager (Education K-12) My Role was to: • Manage my existing Designwyse client base, and expand where it would advantage the client. • Write business with New Clients when the opportunity arose. KEY ACHIEVEMENTS • Successfully negotiated and managed a BYOD Program for a Secondary School in the West of Melbourne, with an enrolment of 1400 Students. • Successfully negotiated with the Australian Head Office of a Prestige Car Manufacturer, for the supply of Custom engraved iPads for all of their customers. • Maintained and extended my Relationship with Major Catholic Secondary Schools around Melbourne, for the Annual Supply and Configuration of their Apple Mac Desktops, Laptops, and iPads. • Demonstrated a high degree of adaptability How so? When Compnow acquired Designwyse, it was getting close to peak buying season, so I needed to adapt VERY quickly. What did I need to learn?: - The Compnow CRM (which would be replaced 6 Months later with another) - New Business processes and procedures - New Organisational Structure / People (Get a feel for Who does what, and why) - Corporate culture BACKSTORY: Compnow acquired Designwyse in November 2013, when the owners of Designwyse decided that they wanted to exit the business. Compnow are a company who were able to successfully transition away from being a traditional Computer Retailer, to focus (almost entirely) on Education, Government and Corporate clients. As often happens with acquisitions, a number of Designwyse staff were retrenched, either because of unnecessary duplication, or (in the case of Sales Staff) they didn't fit the markets that Compnow were aiming for. I was one of those retained. Why? • because of my Focus on the Education market, • because I had a great roster of faithful K-12 Education clients, who would buy from me every year. Show less

Senior Account Manager
-
May 2007 - Nov 2013
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS: • Successfully Increased my revenues by 211% from the 2007 financial year, until the 2012/2013 Financial Year (In November of 2013, CompNow acquired Designwyse) • Successfully refocussed from Retail and Print Based Clients, to being mostly Education K-12 Schools BACKSTORY: "Designwyse Australia Pty Ltd were a privately held company with around 25 Staff. They specialised in computer based hardware and software solutions for the graphic design, photographic and publishing industries, as well as the Government / Education and Corporate sectors" So yes, it was fair to say that Designwyse had a long heritage of working with the print sector. They were an independent Apple Reseller, as well as being an Epson Pro (Wide Format) dealer, and major supplier of Fuji Xerox Laser Printers. In 2008, I noticed the opening of the first Apple Retail Store in Australia. I knew that they would open many more, and predicted that we would lose a certain percentage of our small Business and more Retail based customers to Apple. I decided to place a greater emphasis on identifying, and servicing Education accounts, which turned out to be a very wise move. See attached reference from Robert Kloester - (Owner) Show less

2003 - 2007
ROLE: Senior Sales Executive - Home Entertainment Division Plasma, LCD, CRT, Digital Cameras, Home Theatre, Audio etc LG, Panasonic, Pioneer, JVC, Sony, Canon, HP KEY ACHIEVEMENTS: • Being a High Achiever in Sales, meant that I was invited to attend the Clive Peeters "Millionaires Club" Dinner • My amazing customer service meant that I was nominated for a Clive Peeters Customer Service award. • My Adaptability saw me progress from the Computer Section, to being Senior Salesperson in the Home Entertainment Department. • Acquired product knowledge to cross-sell into the whitegoods department, and into kitchens. During this time I received excellent feedback from both Management and Clients. For Example: On February 26th 2007, I received a letter from Clive Peeters National Manager, Mike Coen. “Just a note to say thank you for the excellent way you handled Ken Kipping in your Store on Thursday. You weren’t to know, but Ken is a Director of Frontline Services Pty Ltd, a company that we are picking to which will give Clive Peeters access to the lucrative Australian Defence Force market nationally. As much as he was genuinely after guidance, he was also testing You, and therefore Clive Peeters, to ensure we lived up to the claims I have made in terms of our superior product knowledge and service standards. I am pleased to say that he was most impressed with the store and its layout etc, but the standout. in his eyes, was the product knowledge and the exceptional customer service you personally provided. You are a credit to yourself, and a great ambassador for Clive Peeters. Well Done! Keep up the great work." (Letter is attached for Verification). I am grateful to Geoff Ovenden at Go Music for giving my first job in retail. As is normal for all entry-level employees, I really did learn from the 'ground up'. I vacuumed the floors, and took care of many housekeeping duties, which helped teach me the importance of merchandising, and having your store look great. It was at Go Music that I learned how to balance a till, organise a float, take care of banking etc. By reading in my own time, and by watching and listening to the other staff, I learned proper sales technique. (Qualifying, Closing, Overcoming Objections etc) It was the last 80's, and 'Hair Metal' was at its peak, so I contacted some hot young players, and had them sign up as guitar teachers, and marketed it as the Go Music Rock School.
