I was working as a quarterback for this great Edmonton, AB based CLEC. The company was delivering high speed internet for a major Alberta based CO-OP which has branches all across Alberta. This was one of the first project for the organization, new to it's kind and needed a person with a good handle on service delivery to run the show. My business card says Project Manger, working Service Delivery Department, which falls under the Network services Division. But when you get down to it, I'm much more- I'm an architect, compere and investigator I was involved in delivering corporate communication solutions to enterprise clients, enabling them enhance their business operations. I have delivered projects with various complexities, hurdles and expectations. Got right down to the business of project management within 6 months of joining the organization, getting familiar with established systems and processes. I managed to increase the client retention rate by providing enhanced and efficient client services, superior client communication and successful project turnover to realize benefits. Delivered projects that are mission critical, launch new services to the market and enhance existing services. In the latter stages of my career, I was introduced to program management concepts, which enabled me to better manage programs, benefits realization, efficiently engage stakeholders and govern the program and it's components. Tasks that i do on a daily basis are collaboration, risk management, engaging clients, informing management on the progress, handle escalated issues, conduct quality audits and checks.

Field installations Supervisor

I was selected to work in this organization to assist the current project manager and senior telecom engineer in field installations. My initial assignment was for an upstream oil field services company. I was placed in-house as their telecom engineer to maintain, monitor and troubleshoot telecom equipment. I had the privilege of working OSP fiber optics project, upgrading many passive communication networks, and worked on expanding telecom reach to different areas of the field. This gave me an opportunity to explore in-dept the workings of an upstream oil field services company, and create a mind set on HSE principles, while working on assignments. I learnt the specifics and intricate details of structured cabling installation, fiber optics installation, designing structured cabling solutions on paper, explaining installation constraints to building contractors and electrical contractors. I would translate actual installation to paper (as-built drawings) for records.Held meetings with installers to know their concern, learn from them and brief management on work progress and project completion expectation. Managing resources was one of the biggest lesson learnt during my tenure in this company. We had limited resources, and needed to balance installations with available resources. It was a tight rope walk, but managed to complete installations on time, without exceeding allocated cost.

Medical equipment Installation and Maintenance

I was hired to perform preventive maintenance, installation and commissioning based on equipment manufacturer guidelines at client's location, nationwide. On a regular day, I would attend to equipment faults, installations, product demonstrations, explaining to frustrated client on the reason why an equipment keeps failing, or a delay in repairing a faulty equipment. I managed to avoid equipment breakdown by keeping them in working condition for 90% of their lifetime duration. This helped in increasing the efficiency of the hospital operations, delivering better healthcare services. Traveling to locations, I also attend troubleshooting calls in a quick and responsive manner, bringing faulty medical equipment to operational state within the SLA specification. I also assisted my peers in troubleshooting, installation and maintenance tasks which enabled me to gain more working experience, build rapport with colleagues and management and enhance brand reputation.
