I will be assisting the skating director once they have been hired. I open up the Apex Ice desk Monday-Friday to make sure everything is ready for people to get on the ice. This includes getting nets on the ice for any hockey, counting the money for the register, among other things. Once the doors are open I talk to customers, take money for customers to get on the ice, run the computer program called ActiveNet, answer emails about our Learn to Skate program and other skating questions, answer and make phone calls, take care of and get things ready for Learn to Skate, and partly in charge of the skating coaches. I am in charge of running the Learn to Skate program until the new skating director is hired. I will also be running the "Skate the Schools" plastic ice program that is being re-introduced to Jeffco Schools in the fall. Show less

I traveled around the world entertaining crowds of people by iceskating. I was a chorus, character and understudy skater. I also did publicity work with this job. Many early morning PRs for the news, birthday parties dressed as characters or as an escort for a character, and children's hospital visits. This was an amazing job that I feel blessed to have had.
