I dump canisters full of metal into the furnace, take test samples to send to the lab, and tap molds once all metal is melted in. I also help to change furnace boxes, removing and replacing the connections to the vacuum induction furnace. Prior to becoming Auxiliary Operator, I was a Utility Operator, during which, my job consisted of setting up the molds for tapping, stripping, weighing, and stenciling ingots, building tundishes, and running various ovens.
