Built the program from its roots, created and implemented policies and procedures, designed program trainings and guides, coordinated the delivery of services in accordance with the fidelity of the PAT model. Recruited, enrolled, and assigned more than 300 families who met eligibility requirements, most of whom were low income, lived in unstable housing, had low educational attainment, and did not have a support system. Lead and supervised 20 AmeriCorps Members, evaluated their service to provide effective feedback, organized monthly group meetings and trainings as well as individualized reflective supervision sessions. Wrote grants, managed a strict budget, monitored documentation, collected and reported data, conducted evaluations, worked on continuous quality improvement, and operated the online data management system. Worked in partnership with 5 local agencies and 7 Site Supervisors, engaged in community events to recruit families and bring awareness to the importance of home visitation, child development and school readiness. Maintained certification as a PAT Parent Educator, attended professional development conferences and trainings held by local, state and national organizations to enhance my leadership and administrative skills. After-school and summer program for at-risk children that strives to enhance social, academic, cultural and physical achievement of youth by creating opportunities that help them succeed in school and grow into healthy and productive adults. Recruited, trained and supervised 30-40 college student and community member volunteers in the planning and implementation of lunchtime and afterschool activities for approximately 100 participants. Local program of the national organization dedicated to assisting youth of all backgrounds and financial circumstances achieve their potential by enhancing self-esteem, providing positive role models and helping them to develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders. Planned, implemented and evaluated the 10 week Healthy Habits program, which is the mind component of the National Boys and Girls Club’s Triple Play Program titled “A Game Plan for the Mind, Body and Soul”. Taught 2-hour weekly classes for 10 weeks, 1 session for members ages 6-9 and the other for members ages 10-12, which emphasized good nutrition, regular physical activity and improving overall well-being. Designed flyers to promote the program, created quizzes, puzzles and games for the members to identify what they had learned through the classes and made certificates for program graduates. Managed a tight budget when purchasing healthy snacks to provide the members during sessions, took caution and acknowledged any food allergies and set examples for disposing of trash and recycling appropriately. Identified, avoided and managed risks associated with the activities of the program, ensured the classroom was in appropriate condition and a safe place for the members to learn, play and grow. Private nonprofit organization identifying and meeting specific needs of low-income and other eligible children and families in a manner consistent with federal Head Start regulations and best practices. Planned, built and maintained the on-site vegetable and flower garden, wrote donation requests asking local nurseries for seeds, plants, and other garden essentials, organized garden events for children and families to attend. Coordinated the annual volunteer appreciation event in collaboration with other local nonprofit agencies, compiled lists of volunteers, mailed invitations, designed appreciation certificates and personally acknowledged volunteers. Facilitated the annual Christmas event, Mountain of Giving, recruited and managed volunteers, calculated the budget, collected requests, shopped for hundreds of items, organized gifts and distributed the gifts to families. Advocated for Missoula Early Head Start to save the program from potential budget cuts, manually operated the in-kind donation system and juggled recycling, grocery shopping and general office clerical duties weekly. Volunteered as a substitute teacher in the Child Center, cared for children aged 0-3 years, many of whom have mental and physical disabilities, have experienced abuse or neglect and represent diverse ethnic backgrounds.
