I managed Terry's work for several years at SunTrust Bank in the Incentive System Applications. I then worked as a fellow Systems Developer in the application development team Terry is an excellent Technician and diligent employee. Terry was a quick starter in the application digging deep into the system learning new ways to access data and build interfaces to the vendor provided product utilizing his Cobol DB2 development skills. He had an excellent report with the Client, Management, vendor resources and fellow team members. Terry developed several programs that perform complex Work Load Manager Stored Procedure Calls to the applications DB2 Tables. These programs were the building blocks for subsequent development efforts. Terry provided very clean coding and in-line documentation in his solutions. They are very easy to follow and well designed. He also is willing to dig into new tools as they became available here at the bank. He is self-taught in ICE Tools introducing several better ways to perform utility functions in the application. Terry is very proficient in the 4th generation languages SAS and Easytrieve. He developed and maintained several programs in these languages to manipulate files and write reports while at SunTrust. . One of Terry's most notable accomplishments was his development of Technical Training and Troubleshooting Documents for the Incentive Application at the bank. He conducted several training sessions that were very well received by his fellow colleges. To this day these documents are still being heavily used by the application team Lastly, Terry handles himself very well in tough situations. He is very positive and willing to do what it takes to get the job done. He knows when to add just the right touch of humor to keep the group in the correct prospective. I have found this to be a very rare quality in this business. Terry will truly be an excellent addition to any technical team.

Actuary Dept.- I work on a mixture of development and maintenance projects. Currently developing Oracle packages and stored procedures for the Ground Up Reserving project. This is basically a rewrite of the existing Reserving mainframe system.From 2013-2014: CAR (Commonwealth Automobile Reinsurers). This is a special reporting system for the State of Massachusetts, where we provide premium and claims data on a monthly basis. It is written in Cobol, DB2, and a little IMS.Initially worked on the company's multi-company project, where we modified all code to add a general subroutine for adding new companies. This allows the addition of new companies by simply changing DB2 tables.My environment is mainframe Cobol, DB2, Easytrieve, and CICS.
