Worked with the South Carolina chapter of the NAACP to aid the historically Black community of Sandridge, South Carolina in their fight against a proposed highway which would displace residents and destroy their homes. Filed a Title VI complaint with the Department of Transportation, resulting in the ongoing investigation of the proposed highway by the Federal Highways Office of Civil Rights.
