Mats is a very driven and social person. He has a great network and gets people connected to each other. A meeting with Mats is usually an effective and creative meeting with some kind of result that moves both parties forward in a win-win solution.

Malcolm Gruber

Mats has a good analytical mind, able to quickly assess any business situation. He has a great deal of marketing and general business experience which he puts to good use in any situation. He is a good negotiator and has an entrepreneurial spirit. He also has a great sense of humour and is great fun to work with - I really enjoyed our time working together.

Member of the Board of the Swedish Pediatric Cancer Fund (Barncancerfonden) during 2016 and 2020. The Swedish Pediatric Cancer Fund is a non-profit organization and the largest player in Sweden that funds research on pediatric cancer and also provides social support to children affected by cancer and their families. The most important strategic issues for the funds are how to attract funding for our work and decide how to best use the money. We have been very successful over the past five years and have been able to double our financial resources. Mats Alpberg has a genuine interest in people and the fighting of pediatric cancer and his knowledge in the field is very good. Through being a driving force in creation of new methods for funding and new ways to communicate with potential donors, Mats has contributed greatly to the substantially increased possibility to reach our goals. As a person Mats is very much appreciated by us on the Board and very easy to work with. He is always open to discussions about new ideas, and a strong ideator of his own. Show less

      • Feb 2000 - Sep 2002

Business Development within distribution, event, sales, marketing. The Speedy Tomato venture was made within the framework of Telia International AB. I took on my start-up responsibilities in this project as a Senior Consultant, representing my own company (Half Moon Consulting). This involved business development concerning distribution, sales, media, event and marketing strategies. Once passed the start-up phase I was recruited by Speedy Tomato AB to the position as Creative Director. Achievements: • When creating a pan European Store concept I further developed my experience in dealing with International agencies. • My understanding of other companies within the telecom business grew • The purchase of content suppliers for the Speedy Tomato portal gave me a deeper international negotiating experience. With hindsight, we developed a platform and a customer interface that was very similar to today's Facebook. Only that we were a few years too early. A platform for likeminded people. Show less

    • Senior Consultant (Debitel AG, Stuttgart)
      • Jan 1999 - Nov 2000

Half Moon Consulting AB was my own company and the client I was assigned for during this year was Debitel AG in Stuttgart. My mission was to investigate the possibilities of starting a service provider in Sweden and Norway. This work involved business planning, negotiations with potential distribution channels in Sweden, as well as with the potential Swedish business partner Telia. Achievements: Due to a shift of management in Telia, the possibilities of a partnership with Debitel was at this time dissolved. For me the result was anyhow yet another good experience, to be counted in further construction of network within the telecom area, as well as a further experience in international relations and negotiations. My responsibility as a Marketing Director was to implement the StjärnaFyrkant brand on the Swedish market, as well as to define the franchise concept and its conducting manuals.Achievements:• One year after the initial idea was born, the business was up and running.• After two years 30 StjärnaFyrkant stores were established, some of them the most profitable telecom stores within Sweden at the time• The brand StjärnaFyrkant became well established in the market• The concept is still running today, ten years laterIn addition to these hard fact results, the turnabouts around StjärnaFyrkant did teach me a lot about the ways of risk capitalists and the importance of believing in yourself no matter the prominence of your partners and counterparts. I also got a good insight in corporate law. Show less
