I had the pleasure of interning under Leo on the Diversity & Engagement team at McCann Worldgroup. From the first day, Leo's passion for diversity and mentoring was obvious. Throughout my internship, I've of course learned about D&E from Leo, but also about navigating life. His positive energy, tenacity, and the amazing events we ultimately pulled off were the highlights of my summer! I am thankful for his constant support, and commitment to my personal success.

"Are You Ready? A Career Preparedness Workshop Series" Given that there is often a knowledge gap from what is taught in the classroom + internships to when an individual actually starts their career, my colleagues Jocelyn Lai, Natalie Kim, & I created "Are You Ready?" to fill that void. Over the course of a few hours, we will share practical knowledge and advice on how to find the right career opportunities, how to convert internships to full time jobs, and how to thrive as entry level employees. We've also incorporated a panel focused on diversity and inclusion given the current challenges our industry is facing, with hopes that students will start their careers with more awareness around these topics and feel empowered to take action when needed. ---------------------- "Get to Know Me First! A Crash Course on How to Build Relationships!" After many requests from students and other young professionals for tips and advice on how to "network," I decided to put my thoughts down and developed this crash course. I start by reframing how people think about networking, as it should be less transactional and more about long term relationship building. From there, provide tips on a variety of topics including: - Who to reach out to + how to prepare for the initial conversation - Making the initial ask + the best way to reach out - How to approach the conversation once you've landed a meeting - How to follow up + keep the relationship going Previous courses have been conducted with students/young professionals at Syracuse University, Michigan State University, The T. Howard Foundation, and the 4A's Multicultural Advertising Intern Program. If you are interested in learning more about either of these programs, please message me directly on LinkedIn or email me at leowong92@gmail.com. Would be happy to chat further! Show less
