- Developed Polyurethane foams using soy-based polyol for insulation and structural applications. The project was supported by Missouri Soy-bean Merchandising Council- Investigated the use of Out-of-Autoclave composite manufacturing techniques through collaborative research projects with Boeing, GKN Aerospace and Spirit AeroSystems- Modeled the cure behavior of polymer composites in Autoclave and Out-of-Autoclave processes, and validated the model experimentally. This project was funded by DoD- Manufactured and investigated the properties of polyurethane (PU) composite insulation housing panels using VARTM process with glass-fiber/PU and using VARTM process to meet the North American Building Codes requirements. This project was funded by MODOT- Developed polymer modified concrete using Polyurethane and poly (vinyl alcohol co-ethylene), and investigated the effect of polymers on mechanical properties of concrete. This project was funded by National University Transportation Center - Performed Mechanical testing using Instron Machines and data analysis using Design of Experiments (DOE).- Responsibilities also included equipment maintenance, design of custom test fixtures, composite tooling, developing manuals, training students and lab tours to industry visitors.
