During this period, I was involved in the synthesis and characterization of vanadium-based binary and ternary oxides. VO2 pellets were synthesized for measuring its thermal properties across the semiconductor to metal transition. Alkaline earth vanadates (MVO3, M=Ca, Sr, Ba) were attempted to be synthesized using conventional solid-state reaction followed by a heat treatment at reducing atmosphere.
