  (This is a spin-off product from NewFoundry) With our backend-as-a-service platform, we eliminate EHR: Excuses, Headaches, and Risk in regards to enabling research and also innovation in healthcare that wants to utilize software based solutions (web, mobile, wearables, devices). With current, typical approaches to creating software based applications in healthcare, the Excuses are: it is too expensive, too complicated, and takes too much time to create a mobile/web/wearable app-based software solution which means ROI is near impossible. The Headaches are: the idea owner needs to be very technically astute plus they either need to be able to write code or else find and hire a software development partner, and they also need to work with the institutional IT department. The Risks are: internal IT departments are rightfully risk averse and then add in HIPAA compliance when PII is involved and that stalls most healthcare tech innovation. We take care of all of that by drastically cutting costs and time to turn-around the software solution (we can have something up and running in days), technical aptitude is not needed by the idea owner, the institutional IT team doesn't have to lift a finger, and HIPAA compliance is taken care of. I utilized my past mobile and web experience to establish and drive forward the new health care mobile app initiative along with creating the next generation of the Canopy eLearning platform. The overall goal of the mobile and web products was to achieve the following outcomes for the medical industry throughout the entire patient care cycle: reduce costs, increase patient satisfaction, improve clinical outcomes, and meet government mandates -- especially in regards to under-served populations primarily due to language barriers (LEP - limited English proficiency, ESL - English as a second language).

Expedia acquired Mobiata in November 2010. Mobiata was fully incorporated into Expedia in 2017. I was responsible for managing multiple engineering disciplines (software development, quality assurance, back-end server, project management, product management, and technical support) and for growing those teams to support a rapidly expanding customer base and app portfolio while striving to maintain a fun start-up culture that was still nimble and produced top-quality products. I was also tasked with seeking and maintaining relationships with a variety of partners and vendors, including negotiating contract terms and conditions.
