I collaborate with designers, marketers, and engineers to innovate solutions to the home care and child care crisis in America. Home care aides and child care providers make the backbone of support work in the economy. However, this demographic has been historically marginalized and underserved because the these caregivers are generally low-income BIPOC women in their forties. Home and child care seekers can come from every background, but there continues to be a systemic neglect of elderly adults and individuals with developmental disabilities of all ages. These demographics are certainly some of the more challenging groups to work with, and yet the satisfaction of knowing that my core user group is one that will benefit the most from my work is insurmountable. Caregivers and care seekers of all backgrounds deserve to match with someone who fits their needs. And my work as a product manager at Carina is how I know I contribute toward solving this issue. I acted as a mentor and cohort lead to 22 incoming UW freshman that were admitted to the Direct to the College of Engineering program. I helped them explore the different engineering majors in terms of determining what kind of engineering discipline they would like to pursue. I also acted as their First Year Interest Program (FIG) leader and assisted them in successfully making the transition to being full time college students at the UW. Information Technology Service Management Specialist

May 2019 - Nov 2019
I was part of the University of Washington's IT department, where I worked within the Academic Services - Student Program team. I specifically worked as a service management specialist where I handled customer support tickets regarding MyPlan, UW's course registration tool. I performed data analysis on these tickets as well as reviewed input generated from the intake forms that I built to solicit user feedback in order to inform design recommendations that I made to the MyPlan UX design team. Marketing and User Research Project Lead
-
Jul 2019 - Sep 2019
Before my work as Carina's junior product manager, I also served as the marketing and UX research project lead. In this role, I acted as a Triage Level 2 customer support liaison and helped hundreds of end-users troubleshoot creating their account and other Carina processes. I also personally operated over fifteen Carina marketing campaigns and reached out to thousands of potential users and obtained high quantities of feedback which I could report to the product team. This role enabled me to see the product from the eyes of end-users and understand how the marketing team operates which ultimately benefitted me greatly when I came back to Carina as part of the product team. My very first work experience was as a high school senior at Carina, right after the company had first been founded. I assisted the UX designer in recruiting interview participants, as well as worked with the marketing manager to analyze early user data to inform fundamental design decisions that the product team would have to consider.
