'This is what a feminist looks like'! These words are nowhere near to describing the many talents and gifts that Kavita has in research, writing, policy, advocacy and campaign work. Kav has her heart in the right place - she is a firm believer in the power of people's movements to make this world a better place for all. I am in awe of Kav for always challenging herself and others to think and act out of the box - always looking for ways and means to make a difference in this world.

I have had an opportunity to work with Kavita at APWLD in her role as Climate Justice Officer and beyond. Kavita brings her fearless leadership in various climate justice spaces, weaving together the work on the ground and in decision making spaces, grounding it in a human rights framework. Her work on climate justice reflects her deep and extensive experience in human rights and law. She has repeatedly demonstrated a strategic vision for the feminist climate justice movement in the Asia and the Pacific regions and globally. Her astute understanding and analysis of systemic barriers that impede climate justice for grassroots communities has been important in connecting the struggles of communities and the global, collective movement needed to stop the climate emergency. At the same time, her work leading feminist participatory action research in the Asia and Pacific region with grassroots communities has been important in challenging the dominant neoliberal discourse on climate justice. I am sure Kavita will continue her passionate fight to dismantle the system for a just and equitable world.
